Since 2011, a team of volunteers from each of the 5 Anglican churches in Cambridge (St. James', Hespeler / St. John's, Preston / St. Luke's, Preston / St. Thomas the Apostle, Galt / Trinity, Galt) have been meeting once a month to get to know each other, share information between churches, find ways of bringing our congregations together and work as a team on joint outreach projects. Each church is very unique but we all have the same faith and follow the same Lord.
Over the years we have participated as a team in community events such as the "Out of the Cold Walkathon" and "Sweaters for Syria", fundraised for Monica House, collected books for Grand Valley Institution's "Read Aloud" Program and built 3 Christmas Parade Floats.
We have also brought our parishioners together to enjoy joint movie nights, an annual joint service & picnic, an annual joint Easter Vigil service which rotates between churches and a "Community Christmas Sing-a-Long". Now that's a group of churches who work together and we are so proud to be part of it!
